I have started to send early drafts of the book out to friends for endorsement quotes. It’s exciting but a little weird because I suspect several of them will have actual editorial feedback for me, and I have a strong desire to stick a fork in this project. I have been working on it for more than eight years now and I am seeking closure. The trick is not to seek closure at the expense of what could be very valuable and objective feedback, so I’m open to whatever I get back from people along with their hopefully glowing praise.
Still, I’ve got a little rhythm going: Work during the day, game in the evening, then tweak book stuff in the wee hours before bed. I wind up thinking about it a lot.
